To take my designs of Yohji Yamamoto further I experimented with cutting out shapes from pattern shapes and this influence was taken from this image of Joanna Kinnersly-Taylor's work Belfast. This appealed me to because she has used such a simple idea of a pattern piece but turned it into informative piece as it reflects the history of Belfast and its linen weaving industry. I also like the idea how Taylor has broken up the various circles with thick lines. I wanted to take this idea and use machine stitch to replicate this idea.
