Yohji Yamamoto

For my textiles project based on singular and multiples, I used Yohji Yamamoto's work as the main basis of my work. I started off by experimenting with one image and then repeating over and over again to create a multiple effect. This image shot by Yamamoto really appealed to me because the simplicity of the jump created a basic shape which I felt could fit with my idea of layering up images. To carry on this idea of influence I worked with screen prints and altered the size and space between this images so they stand alone and in a group. Working in screen prints allowed me to experiment with colour against Yamamoto's black and white image. The main reason I used screen prints was to combine this image of a jumping and turn it into a garment with the idea of taking influence from Yamomotos fashion work.
